I have been running WiRNS.1.2.6.24250 without problems since it was put out. The latest version, WiRNS 1.2.8.29238 is running just fine as well. Seriously, thanks so much to the creator(s) for sharing their expertise.

I run WiRNS from a DOS prompt and rely on http://127.0.0.1:8923 to manually initiate the first Guide Update. Once it's running, I leave WiRNS up 7/24 in order to avoid another software update hijacking IVS and CA. My question is, does everyone leave WiRNS (whether Dos or Windows) running an operational basis? Or do people only initiate WiRNS now and then to get Guide updates on a more tactical basis?

Thanks to this forum's talented group of members, my three REPLAY units (I guess it runs in the family ) now sport CA, IVS and gigantic bargain priced hard drives.

Best wishes for a Happy New Year to all!

Regards,
John[/b]

John, it's not necessary to leave WiRNS running 24/7 in order to avoide software updates. Your Replays have only your WiRNS ip listed. Therefore, WiRNS server is not running, the Replays will just fail to connect to the service.

In the olden days, I used to run it once every 4 days. The big downside is missing potential changes to schedules.

Regards,

Wayne
