I'm going to check DD to see if something changed... with the latest, it worked even after I posted the zip & msi. then, no version would work. I'll let you all know.

I just got back checking the Forums at the labs site and didn't find anyone mentioning an issue. My manual account logon appeared normal, allowing me to examine & modify my lineups.

Weird.

In my experience with the latest builds, for those (like me) who have no choice other than WiRNS for non-US content, it is at least possible to keep it running with manual intervention about every 36 hours or so.

I notice that the Poopli server is no having some play issues with the latest build. However, when I stop, wait 2 minutes, restart the WiRNS server, all seems well again.

Ryan, we really appreciate your efforts. Let us know how we can help out (aside from having me stop posting )

[edit] Search yields results for 14 days. ToDo List still incomplete. Tools/Replay Guide never worked (for me). DISH PPV never worked (for me). Direct TV PPV search yields results for 14 days. Tools/Channel Guide doesn't work. [/edit]

Regards,

Wayne

Zap2it changed their format. I've got to dig in as the current DD code is for the previous wsdl version.

Looked good this morning after I installed the fix. THe guide download accepted about 13 days of guide data, and updated the Channel Guide and Todo list .

I'm not able to observe the Replay update from work.

Nice Job Folks. We appreciate it!

Easiest way is the uninstall 1.2.0, delete the WiRNS directory & install 1.2.3, then apply the patch. I'll make the installer shortly with the fix...

I don't think you need to worry. If WiRNS is not running your Replay will just bounce off your server until it gives up. It won't be able to go to the DNNA server because it doesn't know how to find it.

Worst that will happen is an error message saying it couldn't do a net connect.

Absolutely right.... unless you put in the DNNA server as your 2nd DNS server. Be careful until you have WiRNS re-installed as it should be.

Let me underscore what others have already said.

When I lived in Denver I was able to enjoy all the features of my ReplayTV but when I moved back to Canada I was certain I'd be destined to spend the rest of my life using a Buffalo zip code doing manual records.

kjac and rbolen have added back what makes the Replay experience so worthwhile and I owe you both a debt of gratitude. If you ever need any resources for this project just say the word!

Jim, et al:

kjac has requested donations be made through the sourceforge.net site

http://sourceforge.net/project/project_donations.php?group_id=89992

This was very well hidden in the 1.1.x documents. If you know him, it's not about the money. In fact, far from it.

I think that it is time to have a sticky at the top of this forum with a direct link to a project donation page.

kjac...... you are the mod .... get it done!!!!!!

jleavens....... maybe an idea would be to poll the other developer/mods on the same idea at the top of their forums.

Around here: j.m. , Ryan, Ken Blackney, Gerry Duprey, Lee Thompson, moyeki, honus, archdog99 and many, many more deserve some $, resources and whatever other ideas we can come up with.

For now, in this forum, lets concentrate on these two developers who have given up so much of their time, patience and strength for us.

Ryan, I have 2 sons who are involved in every activity known to man or beast. I respect that you put in many hours for us over the past few weeks, days and (lately) hours. I respect you even more for having gone to your son's concert the other night. I hope that went well.

You should set up a donation link, too. You'll never get rich....

It will be a small way for guys like Jim in Kitchener and me in Separatist Québec (Joliette) to repay your efforts in some small way.

Thanks,

Wayne

Thanks Wayne.. I just wanna see the IVS mirror on Poopli next. redirect any donations to either kjac or archdog99.. (unless you have a spare replay sitting around.. joking)

I do it for fun...

My 1.2.4 install:

- unplugged all ethernet cables (so no Poopli, RTV, etc. communication would disturb the install)

- uninstalled 1.2.3

- clean/deleted registry (HK Loc Mach /Software / Wirns

- rebooted computer

- installed 1.2.4 using MSI (no other mods or files... is that right???)

- entered config info upon popup

- started server via monitor

- Admin/Update guide (got 4 days and freeze, no parsing, no ToDo, etc.)

- added Replay information (6 units all verified correct)

- entered PPV providers (using the method suggested by l8tr's AVS post)

- Admin/Update guide (got 10 days and freeze, no PPV, no parsing, ToDo, etc.)

- stopped/started server via monitor (all plugins loaded and server started as normal.

- only 5 RTV's were seen and cached versions of recording guides were used for them.

- the rest of the plugins loaded as normal

- tried Admin/Update Guide and got the following message:

[2004-12-10 13:39:18] Ready to intercept/proxy ReplayTV requests
[2004-12-10 13:41:52] Guide update manually initiated.

Any idea what the heck I'm doing/not doing?

Anyone else getting this behaviour?

Reboot computer, restart WiRNS via monitor.

- Config/Replays delete first RTV and the screen goes to "page cannot be displayed" . The only config screens which work are PPV and WiRNS

I did as full a clean-out of earlier installs as possible, including uninstall and Regclean, manual Registry Edit (deleted Wirms folder), and re-boot, set up 1.2.4, did the first Guide Update, stopped and restarted WIRNS. When I went into config to add my one and only Replay, it had popups for the RTV Name and IP address where the old data was already showing. I would have thought they would have vanished in the cleanup. So where are these stored, and what else can I clean before installing a new version?

I entered the RTV info but did not get any indicator in LINEUP. Usually the cableco name comes up in there, as it is part of the Zap2It listing, right? Guide Update is still not happening.

Must be cached in the browser. Go into History and delete any WiRNSip-related pages.

Hey, guys, did someone check with payroll to see if Ryan's vacation pay has been processed?

Have fun.

Once again a complete install (c/d all).

Guide data 14 days with full parsing, ToDo processing, refreshing, vacuuming, etc.

One RTV (only) was added which had nothing on it.

PPV for Dish Network (as suggested in L8tr's AVS post)

Guide Data is now loading and up to day 8.

Very encouraging.

How are others doing.

I'll report back my results in about 20 minutes.

Regards,

Wayne

Well since Cliff has not given any report about the "ChannelGuide no longer working" issue I thought I'd pop in my 2 cents. I have WiRNS v1.2.4 loaded up and running on two devices in my home (one a desktop running XP and the other a laptop running Win2k). On the laptop I can bring up the channel guide by right clicking the monitor and selecting it from the list (or by opening the URL by hand). On the desktop I get a page with the WiRNS menus on it but it reports "Guide server is only available on the WiRNS Server." on the screen where the guide should be. Strangely enough the ToDo page is available from the menu and does not give the same error. Sounds likely this issue is related to the client OS possibly.
