I recently observed a 5080 ReplayTV that was powered on during its daily 5:00 a.m. Net Connect. After successful completion, the screen displayed a two-minute countdown to a software update followed by a system reboot. I can recall the same message appearing when Replaytvs were under DNNA control. Why does it display in WiRNS at this time and what effect is it having? My understanding is that there are no automatic updates in WiRNS and that the most recent update version is 3.0.5889.18481 which I installed in February of this year on all units.
