My RDDNS status (in WIRNS) has been showing intermittent and now, mostly, down for weeks. What is the problem and how can I fix it?

My experience is that it is NEVER safe to turn Windows Updates on, at least when you want the computer to be reliable. I've had Microsoft shut down entire broadcast facilities by updating things before.

not quite true, if u have it on one w10 comp u can copy that with a utility from microsoft and use it on another comp which i did yesterday 8/2/16. so it works

I transferred a couple of shows yesterday, so I guess I wasn't affected either.

I've offered before, but I can run a RDDS server if another is needed. Just tell me what I need to do.

Poopli shows this message for all of my machines:

Can't connect to backup.rddns.cc:80 (Connection refused)

Is there a fix?

I'm keeping WiRNS on Windows 7.

I've done a little analysis..

rddns-production.replaytv.net "Official Server". Down of course. On the WiRNS website points to backup-1.

backup.rddns.cc - points to backup-1
backup-1.rddns.cc - up. Run by Ryan.
backup-2.rddns.cc - down. One of Henry's servers

I would make sure WiRNS is configured to redirect rddns-production.replaytv.net to backup-1 for now.

I have a call into Henry's brother to check for access. I think last time he rebooted it.

ah... backup.rddns.cc points to *both* backup-1 and backup-2.. that explains why it works half the time. See if there's a WiRNS config setting for rddns server and point it to backup-1 for now.
