|
A few months ago my Replay started to Lose it's Identity. It would be in the original Mode where you would have to Set-up the Provider, Zipcode, and search for the home network. and just as all the info is entered and go to search for my home network, it would re-boot.
I even tried to set it up via modem then change to ethernet and it would sometimes work, and sometimes reboot again.
I thought it may be my wife's MacBook on the network that was interfering because I could almost never get it to work when she is home with it.
I am using a New Netgear router.
Very frustrating because when it is not in the reboot cycle, it doesnt have any channel guide and I get a bunch of 1 minute show starts. _________________ ------

You have several different types of Replay, so it might help the guys that know about this stuff if you mention which unit is having the problem. _________________ Later, Rob

I would check out this thread. At first it sounded to me like you may have a hard drive going bad. But, then I thought maybe you are having reboots due to running Winamp on some wireless device...
The 1 minute shows are usually due to a problem with tuning the channels. If you don't have any channel guide, then that may be part of the problem. I would use 2-4-3-Zones to clear channel guide TWICE and then perform a net connect, and see if that works any better...
I hope that the reboots are due to you running Winamp on some wireless device, otherwise I would suspect the hard drive in the unit...

I dont think its a hard drive issue because if Ikeep it disconnected from my router, it doesnt reboot. As soon,as i plug into the router, it reboots. ( but not always). Its hard to pinpoint the different conditions.
I tried setting up a dedicated ip address for the replay, but same problem.
Ive also tried unplugging the unit for a while, too. _________________ ------

Then it sounds like something like the Winamp problem. It must be something on your network causing the RTV to reboot...

Uh, yeah! That's exactly what those posts have been reporting, and what I posted in my first reply!

Yes it was a long time.
Thank you to all who made suggestions. So far it hasn't rebooted at all since I took the WinAmp off the phone. That sucks, I like WinAmp.
Thanks again to all.. _________________ ------
