|
|
Hi. I am hoping someone can help or give me some info.
I lost power the other day and lost my channel guide line up.
I tried to do a forced connection with the 243 zones and either get the modem hung up or just there was a problem try latter MSG.
I also tried to change the settings for the channel line up by selecting from Comcast (Digital) to just Comcast. When I do this I get the MSG "Unable to authorize"
Don't know what to do at this point. I thought Replay's parent Co. had changed their tune and were keeping the guide going. And the above mentioned method for forcing a guide DL has always worked in past.
Can anyone give me some help or info with this problem.
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

You might want to try changing your ZIP code so that you go through the whole phone number setup again. Try a neighboring ZIP code that has the same lineups that you are interested in...

Thanks for the response.
Yes tried that. Changing phone numbers too. No luck, still no guide. |

I guess you might want to call ReplayTV support and see what they can figure out. If it's getting through changing ZIP codes and getting phone numbers, it seems like it's mostly working...

West coast server might be down
After trying everything I could to get my channel guide information I finally called Replay customer service.
The customer service rep was very nice, and we tried several things to get my guide information. But my system was not making a connection with the Replay server.
Not having any luck, the Rep thought it might be my systems modem, so we tried using the Replay customer service area code and prefix in Texas to get the guide. Well guess what that worked or at least we connected with the server in Texas. I did not want to pay long distance fees for peak hours so I stopped it once it started to download the guide information.
Now we tried an area code in California different area then mine. This time I got the message “Link Down”
All this testing leads the Replay rep to the conclusion (and I agree) that there is a problem with the Replay West Coast server.
He said he would get the information to the appropriate department.
Personally I would suggest if you live in the West Coast area and are also having problems you call Replay customer service 254-299-2705. Maybe if enough of us call they will get someone to fix this issue for us faster. |

They don't have different servers in different places, they only have dial up service in different places. That's why I was asking you to change your ZIP code, to see if the dial up service was working in your area...
You might want to check out this thread as it relates to your situation...

Thank you. Good link.
And yes I am using dial up, I don't have Internet hook up on the Showstopper 20000.
From what I am seeing on the link you provided it looks like there are a lot of us having the same issue.
Thanks again for the help with this. |

Of course! That's why I said change ZIP codes and try a different phone number. While overkill, there is a way to convert from dial up to Ethernet, which you can also read about either on this forum or on AVSForum. It requires setting up a computer to bridge from dial up to Ethernet, so it may not be something that you'd want to setup. However, if you're interested, you should check it out. You can search for "freesco" here and on AVSForum...
