|
|
I had some power failures the other day from bad batteries on the WiRNS PC UPS. Now I'm getting the following when I use the Lunatic Haven IVS Test.
Asked ReplayTV server about unit at ISN 00055-12716-86182.
Found on Replay server. IP does not match your PC, not revealing IP address.
Unable to contact ReplayTV unit.
500 Can't connect to xx.xx.xx.xx:58011 (connect: timeout)
Check your port forwarding settings.
How do I find out what IP address is being associated with the Wirns PC? |

It is in the Configuration->WiRNS screen.
However, it is unlikely that it could have moved off of your private network. So, you might want to check if your WiRNS ISN changed, or if you accidentally entered the incorrect ISN...

I don't think that it's a problem with the LAN IP. I'm trying to find out what the RDDNS servers are returning for my WAN IP.

| Also, while I wasn't looking today, it completed 1 receive , 1 send and now it's failing the IVS tester again. |

The fact that it worked TWICE today and is now DEAD again leads me to, hesitantly, repeat "Henry's Mantra" - "DHCP Bug"?
From the 00055, I recognize that's not a 5XXX - 4xxx? [I only have 'hands-on' experience with 5XXXs]:- Are you set to MANUAL or AUTOMATIC IP?
- Is your router set up for MAC-to-IP assignments?
- The "DHCP Bug" is explained in the ReplayTV FAQ over at the AVS Forums.
Simple stuff, but after systems have been working FLAWLESSLY for *YEARS*, we tend to forget the HOOPS we had to jump through in the beginning.
Good Luck! _________________ Low Post Count != Low Knowledge ergo High Post Count != High Knowledge

Yes, but being on the same LAN as your computer that you are running IVS Test on, it shouldn't say that it's not on the same network (especially if they are on the same LAN, then they ARE on the same network). So, that seems very suspicious!
As far as what the RDDNS servers are returning for your WAN IP:
The IP for your ReplayTV is 96.228.96.32
The Port for your ReplayTV is 58011
Which is passing the IVS test currently. You can check if that is the correct port number, and if the WAN address matches what your Router says (or use one of the web pages to get your WAN address)...
Maybe someone else is also using the same ISN for their Virtual RTV? The Virtual ISN is generated only using part of your MAC address, so it is possible that it can conflict with someone else. However, looking through the RDDNS server log, I don't see any other updates. I can see that you had a different WAN address yesterday:
[6/2/2012 18:10:39] [RDDNSServer] update: 00055-12716-86182|71.164.102.154|58011
So, I'm not sure what's going on, especially that the IVS Test says that it isn't on the same LAN as your PC...
In addition, in regards to TakeTheActive's response, it isn't likely that your WiRNS PC can suffer from the DHCP bug, so I would disregard that suggestion. However, you do have to have the WiRNS PC configured for a static address, so you might want to check that out...

Everything is passing except for one replay. I'm getting the same WAN mismatch message.

That one comes out:
The IP for your ReplayTV is 71.164.102.154
The Port for your ReplayTV is 58013
Which is what your WAN address was yesterday. However, the RDDNS server shows that it has been updating properly with your current WAN address:
[6/3/2012 20:44:45] [RDDNSServer] update: 00055-09166-74372|96.228.96.32|58013
So, I'm not exactly sure what's going on with that. Seems like something is out of sync. Maybe something isn't updating the DNNA RDDNS server...

I think the backup RDDNS servers weren't always updating the DNNA RDDNS server because we had made plans around the DNNA shutdown last year. I have corrected the RDDNS servers and the problem should resolve within an hour...

I had a problem sending shows to another Poopli User because his ISN changed (and I didn't notice) but his old ISN *PASSED* the IVS Tester (per his original settings in my IVSMagic Address Book). I disabled the 'Backup RDDNS Servers' in IVSMagic and the transfer *FINALLY* went through... _________________ Low Post Count != Low Knowledge ergo High Post Count != High Knowledge

The one replay is still failing, I'll check it later to see if it clears up.
Thanks again Henry |

Well, I noticed that it still wasn't working, and I keep making changes. Unfortunately, I just missed getting an update, I installed the latest update exactly when your unit sent the update request, so it just missed the boat. I think it should be working in another hour from now as I have finally gotten it all back working correctly as it was before the announced DNNA shutdown...

All units are passing the IVS tester.
Thanks for working your magic Henry. |
