Yes, Archie has fixed it, but it may take a while to propagate.

(I won't say you're overreacting because I had the same reaction.)

Glad to read that it is resolved. Still not showing up here but gave quite an uneasy feeling while browsing this morning. Shocking would be a better word. Who needs caffeine?

Yeah. I got (a fairly rare) show request this morning, and when I went to respond got the parked site page. I figured if someone was able to request a show from me in the past few hours it couldn't be completely gone.

But scary nonetheless

I am still withdrawing! Still can't get to the site. I get the URl registration page----all day and evening long. Do any of you have the same problem?

Any suggestions---I have cleared cookies innumerable times. I reset my DSL router---what else?

Going to the registration page has nothing to do with cookies, your router, or your browser. It has to do with name resolution, which is usually provided by your Internet Service Provider. Name resolution normally doesn't change very often and name resolutions happen very frequently, so they are cached for long periods of time. You'd have to ask your ISP to clear their DNS cache, which they would think that you're crazy. Or, you could change your DNS setting to use some other DNS instead of your ISP and hope that their cache has updated...

Anyway, this is a normal problem of the way that DNS caching works. There's not much you can do about it and it usually clears up in a day or so...

Actually, that depends on the TTL setting (Time To Live) setting for the DNS A-record of the particular domain.

If the DNS admin turns it down to a few hundred seconds one can force the propagation quite quickly.

I was trying not to get too technical about it. Time To Live settings for normal domains are usually quite high, but as you say, they are controlled by the master record...

My point was that as a customer of your Internet Service Provider, you can't control when the DNS cache expires because your DNS requests normally go through your ISP. You can change the DNS server you are using to see if a different one has expired the name entry and refreshes to the updated record...

Please better describe the error that you are getting when trying to access the page.

Is nothing comming up at all (timing out), or are you getting a blank page, or a page not found error, or going to something that isn't poopli?

Try following the link below (www.poopli's IP address) and LUK what happens:

I felt so disconnected during the last outage. So to get rid of my guilt and help keep Poopli alive, I sent a donation to Archie as soon as the site came back up. If its still a matter of money, I can kick in a little more. I need my Poopli!

Why would anyone else want the domain name, Poopli.com?

We finally reached Archie this evening. His first words were "crap". He is now on top of this, so it should be fixed soon.

Sorry for the delay and silence. I didn't want to post anything until I had positive confirmation.
