That seems like too many commercials, and I don't really understand how this file work (even after reading the documentation)

I left it like that and finished the rest of the steps, and the final MPEG was only 14Min long, it started out at 2 Hours.

I tried it again, this time I deleted everything in the evt file and it made a 20min MPEG. Im really confused, what am I doing wrong, and is there better/easier software to do this? Thaks

I have never had to use any replay tools to make a dvd from a replay mpeg. I just use womble to get rid of the commercials and then import that file straight into my authoring software, never had a problem. Are you wanting to just burn the mpeg file straight to disc? For compatability reasons I would suggest using dvd authoring software so a valid dvd file structure is created.
As for what software to use maybe a MAC user can chime in here with some suggestions, I don't own a MAC.

I just managed to get it to work with a different show I recorded, and the last step failed. Toast (My DVD Authpring software) just crashes when trying to burn the MPEG.

Are you still following that guide you linked to? If you haven't already, just take a freshly downloaded show and don't bother trying to edit it. Import it into Toast and make an actual dvd project(so the end result will be .IFO and .VOB files). If I'm understanding you correctly your still trying to just burn a "converted" mpeg file on a dvd as opposed to "authoring" a dvd.

I've seen MPEG Stremclip mentioned as something useful for editing. Looks like it's free as well.

I don't want to just burn the file to a a DVD, I want to be able to play it in a DVD player. However I fixed the problem, the version of Toast I was using had a bug, and crashed every time I tried to burn an MPEG, the latest update fixed it . I'll take a look at MPEG Streamclip though it might be easier then what Im using. As for the problems with that movie file, I think it was curupted, because it was s supposed to be a 2 hour movie, but my Replay only recorded 1:31. I got the above tutorial to work with another downloaded show.

Todd, have you tried just copying the MPEG files to a DVD-R and putting the disc in your player? Many players made in the last two years will show you a list of files they can decode and let you choose one to play. I made sure my portable DVD player can do that, so we can take shows with us on trips without any authoring, just drag-and-drop.

Well I got it working, I just used MPEG Streamclip to edit out the commercials, saved the file, and burned "authored" the DVD in Toast, and it plays perfectly.
