First of all, VERY sorry to hear about Henry! He was always patient and helpful.

Within the last 3 to 4 days, my download speed has dropped to ~30 KB/sec,
and these messages no longer appear:

"WiRNS SmartDownload enabled for Living Room"

"Living Room is not busy. WiRNS SmartDownload adjusting download speed to 1.2MB."
(these are still set in "configuration:WIRNS" with "Use SmartDownload" checked.)

I am using: WiRNS v3.0.5732 build 18532
as updated via "Refresh all components".

Playing back recorded shows to my TV seems normal.

I have no way of directly measuring the bandwidth between my PC "Predator" and the ReplayTV, but ping speeds are quite fast:

c:\WiRNS>ping 192.168.1.102
------------------------------------------------
Pinging 192.168.1.102 with 32 bytes of data:
Reply from 192.168.1.102: bytes=32 time<1ms TTL=64
Reply from 192.168.1.102: bytes=32 time<1ms TTL=64
Reply from 192.168.1.102: bytes=32 time<1ms TTL=64
Reply from 192.168.1.102: bytes=32 time<1ms TTL=64

Ping statistics for 192.168.1.102:
Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
Minimum = 0ms, Maximum = 0ms, Average = 0ms
------------------------------------------------------

Typically in past, downloading the MPEG of an hour-long show (~1.6 GB) took about 50 minutes to complete.
Last worked "normally" like this on January 25, 2016.

Nothing I know of changed, but despite refreshing all components, and rebooting my Windows 7 SP1 machine several times, THREE DAYS seems to be NOW required to download ~1.6 GB.

Not sure what other info from me would be helpful...

Thanks in advance for any help!
Martin

reboot the computer, avoid internet use and try a download from the ReplayTV.

After it's run a while, check your TCP/IP statistics on the PC ( netstat -n -p tcp -s ). Are there lots of retries? You may have a bad cable somewhere.

Any wireless networking involved? You could have wireless network speed issues.

Ping by default measures latency, not throughput. Try large packets.

ping -l 1400 192.168.xxxx

Anyway, problem solved ( i think);

STEAM was downloading Marvel Heroes 2016 which was taking all avaiiable
disk I/O and CPU cycles. Now it's done and things seem to be back to normal.

Thanks!

Similar Issue. Just what triggers the 'Busy" flag on downloads. Like:
Living Room is busy. WiRNS SmartDownload throttling download to 300k.

The replay is idle, not recording, updating or being used for viewing. Why would it be considered Busy?
