(rolling eyes) Built in China, but sold by this Japanese company? Have no idea who owns the design. Pricey for what it is? You may be able to do far better via a direct China purchase...
But it works, and well. The chip they used performs reliably. It's a real effort - not a fake.
Not claiming this is the only method, just detailing what works for us.
We now record at Replay's "High" setting for everything (*Never* did that before). Then we compress with Handbrake (a product I discarded as buggy 5 years ago). Takes a 5-6GB file down to 700-1200MB using the defaults.
Results are so good, I'm really questioning my idea of buying a MythTv box for this tuner. Keep in mind, while Airbox *is* pulling from the STARZ HD channels - the DVB transport they use is so compressed, it just must be SD. So that S video input on the Replay is plenty good enough.
