Thanks Henry!

Doing what Henry suggested, I got it working in just a few minutes.

The only difference is that my WiRNS secondary web port was 8081.

So, here are the instructions:
  1. in WiRNS on the Configuration page, make sure you have a secondary web port defined. You may have to restart WiRNS if you turn this on.

  2. in DVArchive, on the TV Guide tab under File | DVArchive Properties, check the "Use Web Proxy?" box. Enter the IP address of the WiRNS box/ip, and for the port number enter WiRNS secondary web port.

  3. Save these settings and Quit DVArchive.

  4. Restart DVArchive, go back to the TV Guide tab and make sure the settings are as you left them.

  5. Shutdown and restart DVArchive (not sure if this is necessary, but it worked).

  6. On the TV Guide tab, you should be able to click on the "Change Zip/Provider" button, and it should bring up the dialog box with the listing of the available providers.

  7. on the TV Listings tab on the main interface there is a button on the lower left "Update Listings". Pressing this will cause DVArchive to request TV Guide info.
I hope this helps others.

Now off to setup my Schedules Direct account and get WiRNS working with their feed instead of DNNA.

Rob

Rob,

I thought I remembered someone here having a problem with this topic in the past few months. If the answer is already here, please delete this thread. If this helps, please delete this reply.

Thanks!

Step 3 is the important one. There must be some sort of bug in DVA and this is how you get around it. It took me a few attempts to figure out how to make that work.

my dvarchive can no longer gets tv guide data , not even from wirns. all zips come up as bad. it used to work perfect without doing what is described in this thead. i liked it it to find new shows and schedual them to a free rtv, it picks the rtvs with no conflicts.

I had a whole bunch of Replay problems recently. I have 5 virtual DVA Replays, of which I only keep 2 or 3 turned on (due to the 7 Replay limit as I also have 3 real Replays). In WIRNS Show Paths, I have all 5 DVA folders selected under WiRNS, but none of the shows were appearing in the WiRNS virtual Replay in the WiRNS Replay Guide, then I discovered that I have to select the drives under my Shows3 DVA in order to get them to appear under WiRNS, weird!

In the process of working on the above, I think I changed the serial numbers or the UUID or something, and then I couldn't get the DVAs to appear on my real Replays. I figured out that you have to reboot the Replays in order for the virtual Replays to appear.

got them all working, main problem on the laptop was that wirns needs to have the "serve guide data replays" box checked as well as the "only serve wirns lineups to dva" box in the guide data page. neither was needed when the rtvmothership was operating. did the same on the others even though they worked.
