So... HDD failure, reinstalled the WiRNS 3.0, updated.
The ReplayTV's won't accept the network settings with the DNS pointing to the PC that runs WiRNS. I have installed on two machines, take the firewall down... nothing.
Network checking on Replay yields "Reachable" for "Gateway", "DNS1" and "DNS2" but no connection is made. On one of the Replays I did let the network to switch back on "Automatic" and connect to the DNA servers. It worked but now I am stuck with that.
My router has reserved the IP's for WiRNS servers and ReplayTV's based on MAC - it worked before.
WiRNS discovered the ReplayTV's over the network.
Anybody has an ideea what else to check?

This means that you have WiRNS configured for a different IP address than the PC is configured...

I did have it wrong a day before on a PC and I did try a "repair" but obviously didn't work.
I had to uninstall/reinstall it on that PC and... now it works from both PC's.
I have no clue what gives. It's like the router or the switch in the living room got confused.
