VideoLAN is an open source media viewer that can not only play ReplayTV MPEGs pulled by DVArchive or rtv_extract, but it can also play content as it streams from the ReplayTV. A "must have".

It can also play assorted video files on your hard drive from other sources AND
This is the biggie
if you get the "RePlay edition of VideoLan.
It will play the file like a 5000 would (With Automatic Commercial Advance) if you choose (F-9 is the magic toggle key)
Far as I know.. the only player that does this.
However on this somewhat anemic machine...... It stutters. Strangely Windows Media Player does better. |
