I have 4 4500's on a network. They are all lifetime registered. Recently one of them gave me the "you need to register" message. Called Direct TV. They say I have to reset to factory defaults and I am trying to move a few shows from that replay to another. I can still stream shows on the "bad" unit from my other units but am unable to access menus on the "bad" unit. I have used DVArchive to download the shows to my pc. How do I get them to another replay or directly from the "bad" unit to another.
Thanx,
Greg |

The only way to "move" shows from one unit to another is to send them via Internet Video Sharing (IVS). So, either you'd have to be able to send the shows from the "bad" unit to the good unit, which would mean that you'd be able to get into the menus, or you'd have to run something like WiRNS that would allow you to use your browser to send the shows from the "bad" unit to the good one...
Having the shows downloaded on DVArchive is pretty much as good as moving them. When DVArchive is running, you will be able to play back those shows on either unit just as if they were stored on them locally...
You can also download them with WiRNS and then send them back to the "bad" unit once you fixed it...
