Following Cliffcor's suggestion, the 4DTVBB (4DTV Black Box) formerly known as the DVRBB (DVR Black Box) is the solution.

It's a small box that connects to the ReplayTV's serial port, and uses an IR emitter (supplied with your replay or available for $6 at Home Depot) to control your 4DTV.

To use it you can use WiRNS with the Metaconnect channel lineup (in which case you use the IR to IR cable instead of serial input) or a DirecTV channel lineup.
