|
|
I just signed up with DirectTV, and got a Philips DSX 5500 reciever.
The initial IRBlaster codes from the Setup menu didn't work too well, the only one that seemed to effect the unit at all was code set 7200. But it would turn the unit on and off right away.
I called ReplayTV support, and the tech on the phone had me go into the fine tuning settings, and had me fiddle around with some of the numbers.
We were able to get the unit to respond and change channels, EXCEPT for the following problem.
If I go to channel 245, the blaster switches the sattelite box fine.
If I go to channel 244, the blaster switches to Channel 24.
It seems that if the same number is "blasted" twice in a row, the second "Blast" is ignored by my box.
Support has escalated the problem to L2 support, but basically the answer I was given was to start playing around with the fine tuning settings.
Does anyone have any ideas where to start?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Anybody with update or solution with this problem ? I have the same Philips DSX5500C receiver and experiencing the 'same digit' issue.
- If press 11 from replay, the receiver will switch to channel 1. If I switch to 244, receiver will switch to 24
ReplayLyndon ? Please help !
Thanks. |

Just so you know, the problem isn't with the Replay, it's with the Satellite reciever. My Tivo has the exact same problem with it as my replay did.
No answer yet from them.

Any ETA from Philips ? I'll call them also so they would know that there's some compatibility problems with their receivers as far as setting them up with either Replay or Tivo.
Thanks. |

| I had a similiar problem with my dish network receiver. I have an older one no longer supported by dish. Swapped that one with my other receiver and it changed channels fine. |

I'm having EXACTLY the same repeat digit problem with a DSX-550 and a new RTV5060.
However, I don't think it is purely a problem with the Philips unit as I have an old Panasonic Showstopper HS2000 Replay TV that has absolutely no problems changing channels on the same Philips DTV receiver.
I would say that puts the ball back in Sonic's court.
Please post any tips - my new replay's a doorstop without a fix.
Cheers

Is there ANY word on a fix for this at all?
I'm seeing the same problem with the DirecTV DSX5500 box, and the Replay is useless if I can't change channels reliably. Serial port isn't an option with this box either, and I've been through the IR fine tuning menu up, down, and sideways with no success...
The first post on this topic was what, five months ago? Is there anything that can be done at all? |

5.1 indeed does the trick!
It downloaded for me this morning and the repeat digit problem is finally solved (using code set 1076).
The software version you should see is 530510190.
Hope you all get upgraded soon.
