a red dot could mean its checked read only which would allow the path to work but no shows can be added--d , is wirns\shows the local guide or are the separate?

5xxx and Scientific American 4250 HDC---IR control code?

Solved. I played with the codes again and moved the emitter around the face of the cable box; 1877 worked. So if anyone has this this model--Scientific American 4240HDC, place the emitter just above the bottom of the plastic window to the left of center, centered on the 1 and 0 of the 1080.

Can the RTVtools be recompiled so they will run on a Lion OS?
I am trying to rebuild the EvtDump, but my test .evt file doesn't generate any cuts, so I don't know what's wrong. I am seeing comercials in the mpg.

My build machine in a powermac intel 64bit machine. What is the .evt format.
I am having trouble determining bigendian/little-endian, 32 and 64 bitness of the original .evt file. The evt types (aud/vid) in the read loop are way out of range.

And clues?

I have read these new boxs have IN SCREEN ADS on the guide!!!! (No surprise at all) -- I dont want to be forced to a piece of garbage like Time warner cable has now!!!! (THAT NAVIGATOR STUFF IS COMPLETE GARBAGE.. QUITE SLOW AND UGLY)

for anyone who's interested i just picked up two 5508s from seller on ebay that includeed everything original except manuals and six extra remotes for $59.00 including shipping and he has more and yes they both work.sorry wrong board
